Yes, my family and I finally arrived in South Korea. Should of updated earlier, but I just never had enough time (I have been busy, but I’ve also been spending most of my free time playing Final Fantasy Tactics A2 on my DS rather than on the internet). My family and I have been in Korea for 1 full week now. It’s different, but so far a really fun, interesting experience. A bit tiring at times since we just walk everywhere for the most part unless it’s pretty far than we just take the subway or taxi (if we have to many things to bring). Though everyone always seems to be in a rush from what I’ve seen. First day (Sunday 24th): We arrived late afternoon at Incheon Intl airport, then we took the bus to the US Army Base at Yongsan and stayed at the DragonHill Lodge. The view from our room was the Seoul Tower, looked really nice at night. Since we were just so tired from the flight and everything my parent’s just got some take-out from the Popeye’s’ on base, and after we ate we all went to sleep (though I stayed up for an extra 30minutes to watch Jpop Wave on KM, the VJ’s were Hongki and Jonghyun from F.T. Island <3 so I had to watch XD).

Second day (Monday 25th): We had breakfast at the Greenstreet restaurant inside DragonHill Lodge, and later my mom and dad brought some of our suitcases with them and went to our apartment in Anyang (안녕) , and my dad went to work at the school. While they were gone my brother and I got some ice cream from the shop at the lobby and mainly just watched KM and played with our DSi. Later at night when my parents got back we went to Myeongdong(sp?) via taxi and ate dinner at a small barbecue restaurant, then went to a convenience store (FamilyMart, I think) and got a T-Money card for my brother and I (they are used like a subway pass that you can always re-charge with more money, instead of just always buying tickets) and some various drinks (I got 햇밤 우유 (Chestnut milk), it’s delicious!). We all went to sleep almost right after getting back to the hotel.

Third Day (Tuesday 26th): My dad left early to go to work, while after getting some food from the Deli at the lobby and a bit of extra rest, my brother, mom, and I took the subway to Anyang. Then walked from the subway to our apartment (was so hot!). Tried to organize some stuff as much as we could, and also met Ms. Lim and Mr. Yoon (or Yun?) the other two teachers at the school my dad works at. Had some very good pizza for our dinner (yes I like all the food I’ve had here so far XD), and then, since there was no reason for all of us to go walk and then take the subway and then walk some more to get back to the hotel, my brother and I decided we could stay at the apartment and my parents could go back to the hotel (we still had a few things there and we were checked-in still)..

(05.27.09) RotiBoy Cafe - note wall
Fourth Day (Wednesday 27th): Didn’t do anything interesting until dinner time when we went with two of the students from the school (Deborah & Peter – brother and sister) to eat Kalbitang (갈비탕?) and also went to RotiBoy Cafe and got ice cream and a chocoboy (it’s a chocolate filled baked bun) for our dessert. I also added a drawing and a little fan thing to their sticky note wall (it says 동방신기 사란해 (I love DBSK)! TVXQ is the best!). Was really fun to look at all the different drawings and writings on the wall. Definately for anyone in South Korea (specifically in Anyang) you should go to RotiBoy, food is wonderful, and the owner and his wife are really kind.
Fifth Day (Thursday 28th): My mom and I went to the US Army base at Yongsan and picked up the ration card thing for her and my dad so they can shop at the exchange and commicery, also got a cell phone for my mom (still need to pick it up though), and then met up with my dad and brother at Kim’s Club department store and got a few grocery stuff, and I also got TVXQ’s Japanese single ‘Share the World’ (I got the promotional poster free with it, and my random photo card was of Jaejoong <3). Afterwards for dinner we went to a nearby barbecue restourant with three of the students (Peter, Deborah, and Eric). Then got dessert at a waffle stand (not a normal waffle, it’s like one waffle folded in half with something like whipped cream and vanilla inside it, quite yummy) and went home and my brother played some games with them and I showed Deborah my website.
Sixth Day (Friday 29th): ..I completely can’t remember what happened that day… this is what happens when you try to write about a bunch of stuff late at night… I think we just stayed home that day.. Should ask my mom.. lol. Will do that in the morning-ish..
Seventh Day (Saturday 30th): Worked on some exercises during the morning & early afternoon, then we four (my mom, dad, brother, and myself) walked to the E-Mart Department store (stopped and had an early dinner at a nice little ramen shop on the way there), bought some groceries and a few house stuff (extension cords, extra forks, ect.), then took a taxi home. Went to sleep after a little snack.
Eighth Day – (Sunday 31st): Got to church a little before 10AM, and while my parents went to the Bible study, my brother and stayed in the main worship area and listed to the praise team practice. Then by 11AM, the service started, and after the music part my dad did the sermon (was very good), and after announcements, offering, ect. My brother and I got introduced to a bunch of people, and my mom and I went with the women’s bible study group and had lunch (though for us that was breakfast, since we hadn’t eaten yet – my brother stayed with my dad since he didn’t want to go with all the girls XD). Afterwards, I was invited to go to the youth meeting (not really teens, more like all 20-somethings, except me lol) and I hung out with them until sometime past 5pm when Myoung(MJ) brought me back near our apartment, and my dad met us. They were all quite nice, really tried to include me in the conversations and stuff, and they all tried their best to speak English so I could understand. Also went to a cafe with them had a snack, talked, and listened to the music playing. They were suprised when Sorry Sorry went on and I started singing to it XD and then they found out I know a lot of Kpop songs, and I’m a huge TVXQ fangirl. One of the girls, Andrea is also a big TVXQ fan so that was nice.~ On the way home my dad and I
I think and I may have missed some various minor stuff, but whatever I really want to just get an update done and on the site. That and it’s midnight already, I’m still a tad jet-lagged, and I want to sleep now.~ I’ll look this over in the morning and fix any typos and misspelling, maybe add more pictures too. Also just noticed I need to change the date and time on WP too.. Good night or good morning to whoever is reading this. Oh and Patty-unnie, I will try and write you a letter soon!
Okay now I need to go to sleep before I get in trouble. Sorry this was sooooo long. Love always and God bless!!
